Monas is one of the buildings into a tourist attraction in Indonesia. The monument is located in Medan Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, Indonesia, near the Presidential Palace. This is a memorial monument created to commemorate the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Building Monas has deep meaning, its form is represented as a combination of linga and yoni which symbolizes fertility and harmony, while the rate of height and width of the monument is composed of a combination of date, month and year independence of Indonesia.
At the top of the monument is shaped like a flame coated with gold weighing 50 kilograms. It symbolizes the spirit of struggle of the people of Indonesia are kept burning and never extinguished all time. Monument construction was started in 1961 through 1975, and until now the pride of the nation’s Indonesia monuments was still standing strong.
